What happens when you combine the industry‘s best climbers and coaches with specialists in collaborative product consultancy, UX/UI and software engineering?

We created the world‘s best dedicated Performance Coaching App, which will help climbers manage every aspect of their training and climbing all in one place.

Lattice Training is a world-leading climbing and coaching & training plan company run by Ollie Torr and Tom Randall. Lattice Training provided climbers with a 12 to 24 week training plan that climbers perform using a 3rd party application.

They‘d used the app for a while and proved its value but were tied to the feature roadmap of the development and they had no way to inform this and take ownership.

They needed control and a way to achieve their next stage of business growth without combating a 3rd party to help them deliver their vision. The challenge was clear “how do we create a feature-rich application that didn‘t just do what the other application did but improved and gave their clients the next stage of the application?” They needed a technology partner to work and guide them to clarity and beyond.

Forming the Partnership...

To achieve this, they needed to pick the right partner. One that understands the complexity of the product and the commercial risk. Razor does exactly this. We went on a journey together to understand the risk of the products, and the pains of the current solution and understand how this would change in the ‘new world’.

We worked together to understand the current mobile application and the improvements that could be made and how they would work, creating a clear roadmap that showed life beyond the rebuild of the application.

Phase 2 was to shape the MVP of the application and really focus on the UX quality. Razor spent time with a range of coaches to understand how they currently perform training plans and how the mobile application could satisfy this.

Phase 3 was to build the MVP of the application. Phase 4 was the support and maintenance of the application from the go-live date.

A premium mobile application on both iOS and Android, integrating with their current desktop application that allows coaches to manage the training plan.

The application allows a climber to view their training plan, have 1:1 communications with their coaches, schedule their weekly plan, log their plan and perform each session using a complex timer.
